Nordson’s Unity™ Series tabletop robots and MiniBlue® II applicators provide fast, uniform and consistent application of a hot melt PSA masking material instead of manually applying thermal tapes. A full system includes:

Nordson Solution Advantages/Benefits
Using a Unity Series robot to automatically dispense PSA onto circuit boards can significantly reduce application cycle time and labor costs compared to manually applying tapes. The Unity tabletop robot can be programmed to apply adhesive repeatedly and accurately, while the MiniBlue II applicator can handle high speeds without frequent maintenance.
Switching from thermal tape to a PSA can also provide a significant material cost reduction. In addition, the hot melt masking material is significantly easier to peel off the board after the electroplating and conformal coating processes, creating a time-efficient operation for line workers, further reducing labor costs while increasing production.
